SubsHow to cancel a free trial before you're charged
Cancel a free trial at least 24 hours before it ends: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose the trial and tap Cancel Free Trial. The screen shows the exact date the trial ends. Cancelling an Apple trial may end your access immediately, so if you want to use the whole trial, set a reminder for the day before it ends instead.
When exactly you're charged
A free trial turns into a paid subscription automatically when it ends. For App Store trials, Apple may charge within the 24 hours before the trial's end date. That's why cancelling on the last day is risky: aim for at least a full day before.
To see the end date, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions and tap the trial. It says when the trial ends and what it will cost afterwards.
Cancel now or later?
- Cancel right away if you're sure you won't keep it. Apple notes that cancelling during a free trial may end your access immediately.
- Cancel later if you want to try the full period. Set a reminder for one or two days before the end date, so you decide while there's still time.
Trials you started on a website
Trials started on a company's website, where you entered a card or PayPal, aren't in Apple's list. Cancel them in your account on the company's website or app, usually under Account, Billing or Membership. Check for the confirmation email so you have proof you cancelled.

Cancel a free trial on iPhone
- Open Settings. Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions. Tap Subscriptions and find the free trial in the Active list.
- Check the end date. The trial screen shows the date it ends and the price after the trial.
- Cancel Free Trial. Tap Cancel Free Trial and confirm, at least 24 hours before the end date.
