SubsPrivacy Policy
Subs (“Subs”, “we”, “the app”) is a subscription tracker for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes and what choices you have. The short version: Subs never asks for your name, email address, bank login or access to your email, and its AI features run on your iPhone.
Data you add to Subs
The subscriptions, free trials, installment plans and bills you add, together with their names, prices, billing cycles, dates, categories, notes, reminder settings, usage ratings and price history, are stored in Google Cloud Firestore (part of Google Firebase) so they are available when you reopen or reinstall the app. This data is linked only to an anonymous account created with Firebase Anonymous Authentication. We don't collect your name, email address, phone number or password.
A copy of your upcoming payments is also kept on your device so widgets, Spotlight search and Siri shortcuts can show them.
Screenshots and card statements
When you import a screenshot, a photo or a PDF statement, the file is read on your iPhone using Apple's Vision and PDFKit frameworks and, where available, Apple Intelligence on the device. The file itself is never uploaded, and Subs does not keep a copy of it. Only the charges you choose to add are saved, as described above.
Ask Subs
Ask Subs uses Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device Foundation Models) to answer questions about your subscriptions. Your questions and the answers are processed entirely on your iPhone and are not sent to us, Apple or any other server. Past conversations are saved only on your device, protected by iOS data protection, and you can delete them in the app at any time.
If you use voice input, your speech is transcribed by Apple's speech recognition, on the device whenever your iPhone supports it. On iPhones that don't, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple's privacy policy. Subs itself never records, stores or sends your audio.
Notifications
Payment reminders, trial reminders, the monthly check-in and the weekly summary are scheduled locally on your iPhone. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, for example which onboarding steps people complete, when the upgrade screen is shown and whether a purchase is completed, and to measure how well our advertising works. It collects app usage events, device and app information and an app instance identifier. Some events include limited details, such as the name of a service you add or open a cancel guide for, the number of charges found in an import, or the monthly budget you set. Analytics never receives your statements or screenshots, or the text of your Ask Subs questions and answers. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads in the app.
Purchases
Subs Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to verify purchases and manage access to Subs Premium. RevenueCat receives the App Store transaction details, an anonymous app user ID and, when available, information about the ad campaign that led to the install, used to measure our advertising. This does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or track you across other apps and websites.

Security
Data sent between the app and Firebase is encrypted in transit with TLS. Data on your device is protected by iOS data protection. Access to your Firestore data is restricted to your anonymous account.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept for as long as you use Subs. You can delete any subscription in the app at any time. To delete all of your data, email orhanerba@icloud.com from the app's Settings screen or directly, and we will remove it. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device.
Children
Subs is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
