reportaproblem.apple.com: what it is and how to use it
reportaproblem.apple.com is Apple's own site for purchases made with your Apple Account. Sign in and you see a list of what you've bought, including every subscription renewal, with receipts. From the “I'd like to” menu you can request a refund, and Check Status of Claims shows a request's progress. It's also the quickest way to find out what an APPLE.COM/BILL charge on your card actually was.
What the site is
Report a Problem is the part of Apple's website where you look up and dispute purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books and Apple's other media services. Apple's support pages send you there for refunds, receipts and unrecognized charges.
It always asks you to sign in with your Apple Account before showing anything. Type the address into your browser yourself rather than following a link in an email or text message, and check that the sign-in page is on apple.com.

Find out what a charge was
This is the most common reason to visit: a line on your statement that says APPLE.COM/BILL and nothing else.
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Open Safari or any browser and type reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Sign in. Sign in with your Apple Account to see a list of your purchases.
- Search for the amount. If you're not sure what you were charged for but know the amount, search for the amount.
- Open the receipt. Tap or click the purchase date to see the full receipt, including tax.
- Check family purchases. If nothing matches, open the Apple Account menu and choose a family member to see their purchases.
Why APPLE.COM/BILL is hard to read
Apple explains that apple.com/bill appears on your statement when you buy an app, music, a movie or other content from Apple, when a subscription renews, and when a family member buys apps or content. Three things make it confusing:
- Grouping. Multiple purchases, including subscriptions, might be grouped onto one charge, so the amount on your card may not match any single item.
- Family purchases. With Family Sharing, the organizer's card can be charged for someone else's purchase.
- Authorization holds. A temporary hold for a small amount might appear on your statement and then disappear.
If you've checked the site and still aren't sure why you were charged, Apple says to contact Apple Support.
If the purchase isn't listed
- It was bought with a different Apple Account. Search your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple” and check which account appears on the receipt, then sign in with that one.
- It's still pending. A pending charge can't be refunded yet. Wait for the email receipt.
- Apple didn't bill it. If there's no Apple receipt, you might have bought the subscription from another company, and you'll need to contact whoever bills you. Reading your card statement will tell you who that is.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't cancel subscriptions (iCloud+ without a device is the exception Apple documents). Cancel in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions; see how to cancel subscriptions on iPhone.
- It doesn't guarantee a refund. Apple reviews each request. The full process, timings and what blocks a request are in how to request an Apple subscription refund.
- It doesn't cover hardware. Returns of devices bought from the Apple Store go through Apple's store returns process instead.
Recognize the charge before it lands
Looking up a mystery charge is detective work after the fact. Subs turns it around: once your subscriptions are listed with their prices and dates, a reminder arrives before each renewal, so the APPLE.COM/BILL line on your statement is something you expected. If several small Apple charges have piled up, import a screenshot of your statement and Subs picks out the recurring ones on your iPhone.
